Glamorous Plus Size Sleepwear

Want to give the plus-size woman in your life a luxurious gift that will give her happy dreams? How about a lavish two-piece pajama set so soft and comfortable she’ll want to sleep in it every night? Being a woman myself, I know there is nothing better than slipping on beautiful, dreamy, soft pajamas at the end of a hard day. It’s almost like draping yourself in peace and tranquility. On the weekends, it’s also nice to know you can lounge around in elegance and feel like you are at a spa. Buying pajamas for your mom, sister, wife, daughter or girlfriend is actually giving her a simple way to take a minute, breathe and just feel fabulous. Don’t be too concerned about the plus size factor, there are beautiful women’s pajamas now for all shapes and sizes, including plus sizes (extra large, 1X, 2X and 3X.)

Where to shop

Plus size women’s pajamas can be found at nearly any of the better catalog and online plus size clothing shops. Whether you're looking for plus size women's sexy pajamas made of silk, satin and lace, or flannel tops and bottoms guaranteed to keep her warm on cold winter nights, you'll find what you're looking for at shops like Jessica London, Lane Bryant, or Catherines. Amazon.com has a nice selection as well.

Pajama Wardrobe

I like really glamorous pajamas, which feel silky and luxurious. A woman’s pajama wardrobe may change from season to season, with light cotton fabric as spring and summer arrives, and then moving to fuzzy and thick fabric with the arrival of fall and winter. If she has always slept in sweats try getting her a pair of silk pajamas in rich colors for a surprise. Some women only like cold winter nights because they love to wear warm fuzzy socks and fleece pajamas, big cozy robes and fires in the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider!

Pajama Fashion

What type of PJ's does she wear now?

Lots of women like to sleep in sweats, or in t-shirts. The sleep shirt is a nice cross between a nightgown and a man’s t-shirt. Long enough to walk around in but short enough to resist tangling, sleep shirts come all kinds of fun designs and soft cotton blends, unpretentious enough for a slumber party and pretty enough for sleepovers for two. Women often like men's clothing for sleeping because of comfort. Some women like to sleep in men’s boxer shorts and a camisole, which can be a sexy look. Men's pajamas are often less expensive than women's, and you can find brands in department stores that will fit plus size women in men's sizes Large and Extra Large. Pants are often sold as separates, and you can buy nice pajama or lounging pants in cotton knits.

Teenage and College girls

Teenage and college gals now wear pajama bottoms in public. Knit pajama tops and bottoms can be worn as a light extra layer under winter jeans and sweaters. Some pajama camisoles are just right for wearing as a summertime top.

Fun Pajamas

If she’s got a great sense of humor and isn’t afraid to show off her silly side, she’ll love something fun and frivolous. A fun pajama set would feature bright colors and fun prints to make her smile, with super-soft fabrics to guarantee she’s as comfortable as can be. Even movie stars where flannels! Check out Munki Munki and BedHead styles!

Here’s some tips for describing her style so you can buy her a pair of pajamas she’ll simply love wearing!

Classic or Two-Piece Set

Is she the classic type? Uncomplicated and comfortable may be the way to go. The classic two-piece pajama set, night gown or nightshirt would be perfect for her. Modeled after the classic men’s pajamas with full-length pants and a roomy, button-up top, these type of PJs are ideal if she’s all about being comfortable. With lots of different prints and fabrics to choose from, you can’t go wrong with these.

Feminine

If she is a romantic that loves soft colors or would you describe her as a girly girl? Try something with pretty fabrics and prints that come in comfy designs to have her feeling like the beautiful woman that she is!

Silk, Satin, & Fine Fabrics

This is my favorite type of pajamas. Find ones that are designed in wonderfully soft silk, satin, cashmere, and other fine fabrics, these pajamas are the perfect pajamas for women who love to indulge in life’s finer things. These types of pj’s are wonderful for everyday, or to spoil the woman in your life on those special occasions.

Maternity Pajamas

Make no mistake, guys! These pajamas are meant for pregnant women or new moms only. They’re made of the softest fabrics and many have special features like pleated tops for expanding bellies and nursing slits for discreet breastfeeding.

Nightshirt/Sleepshirt

Shorter in length than a nightgown, nightshirts or sleepshirts are cut to be roomy and some styles resemble an oversized, button-up dress shirt. If she likes the freedom of a nightgown but prefers shorter lengths, this style is perfect.

Chemise

Chemises are straight-hanging, short gowns often made of silky material, so they're a great choice for women who like the comfort of a nightie but still want their pajamas to be on the more elegant side.

Nightgown

Some women prefer nightgowns over pajamas that have pants, so if you most often see her wearing long shirts or other nighties to bed, getting her a gorgeous gown is a great choice.

Remember, buying beautiful, soft, and glamorous PJ’s for the plus size woman in your life will say that you think she is beautiful and may even help her reduce the stress in her life. This gift may perhaps even persuade her to leave a little time for a daily indulgence that she wouldn’t do for herself. She will remember you every time she puts them on!

Hi Moe, thanks for stopping by and letting everyone know about Cool-jams.com. I took a look at the site and the PJs look awesome. I can relate to the night sweats unfortunately!
